Demand for Commercial Properties is Being Shaped
by Less Immigration and Relocations to Smaller Markets
In 2025, domestic migration continued shifting residents from large, higher-cost counties toward smaller, lower-cost suburban markets. Lower immigration slowed population and labor-force growth, while birth rates decline long term.
